Swim Pictures

Here are a few pictures from Tyler's swim class. Tyler has been taking swim for a while now and is getting very comfortable in the water. It's amazing how much he loves the water and how much his skills have developed. The kid is an impressive swimmer.

November Zoo Trip

Tyler and I made a trip to the zoo today for a few hours. Since the weather was nearly perfect for a November afternoon, I thought Tyler and I would enjoy some fresh air and several train rides. Good thing we went, because we had a blast riding the train twice and seeing some cool animals. Take a look....

Lollipop in hand...check.

Waiting for the train to come back around, Tyler decided to "hang out".

Three tigers sleeping in the cage below and Tyler said "Shhh...tigers sleeping"

Typical cats!

Watching the monkeys play.

Hanging around again for the 2nd train ride.

Wendover Air Show

This past weekend, Tyler and I made a "father-son trip" out to Wendover, Utah for an air show. I've never been to one and Tyler loves airplanes. It was a perfect day to watch planes in the sky and walk between the ones on the ground. Tyler loved the planes, especially the ones doing flips and twists in the air with smoke. One plane even made a heart in the sky. There were also jets, like F-16s, performing at the show, but they were a little bit too loud for Tyler to handle. All in all, Tyler and I had a great day and wonderful trip out to Wendover. Can't wait to do it next year!

Hey Dad....Where are the BIG planes??

Tyler reacting to the 1st plane in the air.

What a cute smile!!

Tyler watching the jets. Most of the time when the jets were performing, I had to hold Tyler and cover his ears. :)

Check out this cool picture I was able to capture.

Check out this face I caught on the camera.

"Cheese!"

Visiting the Healing Field in Sandy. Tyler loved the flags and open space to run.

Climbing on the log outside Silver Fork restaurant after a yummy breakfast with Donna and Ken.

I love this pic from the park.

Remembering 9/11

With the 9/11 anniversary tomorrow, I've been thinking about past 9/11 anniversaries. I believe it's something we should never forget. Last year I took Tyler to the Healing Field in Sandy. They have an American flag for each victim of the terrorist attacks on 9/11. Seeing all the flags lined up is pretty awesome and sobering at the same time. I thought I would post a few of my favorite pics from last year, with the hopes of posting new pictures from tomorrow.

Tyler had just started walking a few weeks before we went last year. So he enjoyed the freedom to walk around between the flags, even though his feet and coordination didn't work most times. :) Enjoy the stroll down memory lane. Look at how small Tyler was a year ago.

Walking, walking, walking.....
And we're down!

Notice the position of the arms.....Tyler used to do this to maintain his balance.

I love this picture of Tyler and the flags!

Making Bread with Momma

Today, Tyler and Momma made a few loafs of yummy zucchini, blueberry bread. And they had a ton of fun during the entire process. The pictures below are proof!

The monster zucchinis came from our raised garden bed in our backyard. The recipe came from Nann. The elbow-grease from Tyler. The guidance and idea to put the apron on Tyler from Momma. And the best part of baking....licking the spoon! See the last picture as evidence.

2010 NC Summer Trip

Just last week, we flew back to visit my parents, family, and friends in North Carolina. I'm from the Charlotte area and my parents, Nann & Pop, live "out in the country". We love to go back and visit with everyone. Tyler always has a blast staying at Nann and Pop's house. Usually, we visit over one of the winter holidays, but decided this year to visit during the summer. It's been several years since we've experienced a North Carolina summer....the humidity was tough! But well worth it.

Tyler was able to go out on Pop's boat, not once, but twice during our stay. One day, we enjoyed fried chicken and biscuits on the lake. A family tradition! Also, Tyler played with his cousins, Jonathan and Noah, thanks to Angie & Willie watching Tyler while his mom & dad had a date night. Tyler also visited his great grandparents and played with friends on his Nick Jones's awesome slide contraption. All-in-all, it was a wonderful vacation and a great time seeing everyone. We can't wait until next time!

Enjoy the pictures of our trip below....

A great picture of my two sweeties.

The life vest didn't work well with the hat.

Tyler would play in the shallows around the beach for hours.

Jonathan, Tyler, and Noah. What cute kids!

Brady and Camden, Nick & Jennifer Jones's boys, with Tyler. This was taken on the sweet slide that they had. The kids loved loved the slide.

A nemo lollipop....nothing better than that. Well, fresh corn-on-the-cob from Nann's garden is up there as well.

Tyler chillin' in the front of the boat.

Cute picture.
